Appreciation Goes Straight To The Heart

Always show your appreciation in every situation that you receive blessings from another, whether it be something material, kindness, kind words, service, knowledge - anything that you directly benefit from.

A lot of people in the world today, where the best of comforts and technology have been developed for us, take everyday blessings for granted and do not realize that a lot of time, energy, effort and thought go into what is so readily available for us on a daily basis. It may be the bus driver on your route every morning and evening, the plumber who rushes out to you whenever you have an emergency, the nurse in the emergency room who receives your sick child, indeed anyone who you meet throughout your day.

People often assume that whomever is being of service is earning a salary so they do not deserve anything 'extra', so they don't thank. Some even go to the extent of being abusive, just because they consider that 'it's the other person's job'.

Consider the case where, for example, there were no waiters or waitresses in restaurants because all of them are tired of being abused or don't feel appreciated. You'd always have to get up to get your own food and drink, or even cook it yourself first.

So, as you go about your daily activities, even as you read this post, be mindful of the people involved in whatever you do and make it a point to show your appreciation in one way or another. A little appreciation would go a long way in this sometimes stressful world.

And remember: “Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

Be blessed. ♥
